Energy drinks are liquid soda-style beverages that are boosted by the inclusion of ‘energy boosting’ ingredients including sugar, caffeine and other caffeine-like substances like ephedrine, and guarana. Some energy drinks also have vitamins, “acid stabilizers” or other nutritious-sounding ingredients, too. With all of these ingredients one might well ask whether energy drinks can help you achieve your weight loss goals by giving you the boost you need to exercise consistently.
Red Bull, Jolt, Amp and Hype are four of the more commonly known energy drinks. Energy drinks themselves are classified as “functional beverages” which means that they do not form part of the bigger nutraceutical food or dietary supplement industry. So because energy drinks are not classified as either a food or a dietary supplement, they are not regulated nor monitored by the Food and Drug Administration.
The aim of energy drinks is to boost your energy for physical activity and to improve your ability to concentrate on a specific task. Many believe these drinks can provide the energy they need to perform their exercise routine. But whatever you do, you should not confuse energy drinks with sports drinks. Sports drinks are specially formulated to help provide energy to tired muscles and to help the body absorb water and glucose (sugar) – energy drinks are not designed to do this.
While sports drinks are at their most beneficial if your workout is going to exceed an hour or so, plain water is generally a preferred option for quenching your thirst and replenishing your body fluid. Energy drinks, on the other hand, dehydrate rather than hydrate so this is why they are not designed for assistance with sports, but rather just to give you that quick energy-based pick me up.
While many people might claim that energy drinks are good for you if you are playing sports, the truth is that they are good for short bursts of activity and mental alertness only. It is vital that if you are consuming energy drinks that you know what you are drinking. Energy drinks are not necessarily bad for you, but they shouldn’t be seen as natural substitutes for health supplements either. Some of the marketing for energy drinks claim that they “improve performance” and can be misleading because essentially all you are doing is over stimulating your body with caffeine.
There is not very much that is currently known about energy drinks and the effects that their consumption can have on a person’s overall health and wellbeing. The creators, manufacturers and marketers of energy drinks will tell you about the numerous health effects of their products. Their messages will tell you that these products can increase your physical endurance, improve your reaction times, boost your mental alertness and concentration, increase your overall wellbeing, stimulate and even speed up your metabolism, improve your stamina and help eliminate waste from your body.
Ideally, energy drinks should not be used by someone exercising for a sustained period of time because the combination of fluid loss from sweating and the diuretic quality of the caffeine can leave the drinker feeling severely dehydrated at a time when their body needs to be replenished with fluids.
So, what is the deal with energy drinks and why are they so popular? Well quite simply, if you manage your consumption at only one or two a day, then energy drinks won’t harm you and in fact can help you improve your day-to-day activities. Their super-concentrated stimulating ingredients will indeed wake you up and help you to improve the way that you conduct and perform simple mental tasks. There is plenty of sugar and caffeine in energy drinks though, so you should be sure that you minimize your consumption to one or two drinks a day at the most. Any more and you could well experience side effects.
Help answer the question about energy drink industry
Can you name some reasons to go vegetarian?
ONE HUNDRED & ONE REASONS
TO GO VEGETARIAN
People Land Air Water Efficiency Animals Health
PEOPLE
Every year in the UK we feed our livestock enough food to feed 250,000,000 people while in the world 30,000,000 people die of starvation
20 vegetarians can live off the land required by one meat eater
Every 3 seconds a child dies of starvation somewhere in the world
If Americans reduced their meat consumption by 10% it would free 12,000,000 tons of grain – enough to feed 60,000,000 people (the population of Great Britain)
If all Americans became vegetarian, it would free enough grain to feed 600,000,000 people (the population of India)
Intensification in animal farming has displaced 1,000,000's of people from their traditional lands – eg. indigenous people in south & central america, native americans in north america & crofters in Great Britain – this is continuing today
People displaced from their lands into cities succumb to dietary deficiency, diseases, parasites & opportunistic diseases
In third world countries 1 in 10 babies die before their first birthday
The UK imports £46,000,000 worth of grain from third world countries to feed our livestock
Due to overgrazing 850,000,000 people live on land threatened by desertification & over 230,000,000 already live on land so severely desertified that they are unable to sustain their existence & face imminent starvation
1,000,000,000 people in the west gorging on meat & dairy leave 1,000,000,000 to waste away & 3,500,000,000 teeter on the brink
LAND
If they continue to clear American forests to raise cattle at the present rate, in 50 years there will be none left
1 acre yields 165 lbs of beef or 20,000 lbs of potatoes
8/10 of cultivated land in the UK is used to grow food for animals (14,732,000 hectares)
It takes 16lbs of high protein soya to produce 1 lb of beef
Since 1945 in the UK we have lost 95% of flower meadows, 50% of ancient woodlands, 40% of heathlands, 50% of wet lands & 224,000 km of hedgerows all due to animal farming
Pressure on land due to meat farming leads to soil erosion 6billion tons/year in the USA
If everyone went vegetarian upto 90% of land used for animal farming could be taken out of production & used to replant woodlands, leisure activities etc.
25% of Central america's forests have been destroyed for cattle grazing since 1960
Between 1966-1983 38% of the Amazon rain forest was destroyed for cattle grazing
90% of cattle ranches established on cleared forest land go bankrupt in less than 8 years as the land becomes barren due to nutrient loss & overgrazing
Overgrazing by cattle is destroying the land & increasing desertification, nearly 430 million acres in the USA alone has suffered a 25-50% reduction in yield since first grazed
An inch of topsoil takes 200-1000 years to develop – yet in the USA they have lost around 1/3 of their prime topsoil in 200 years (around 7 inches) due to animal farming
Land will be lost due to rises in sea level due to global warming due to animal farming
AIR
The destruction of the rainforest by cattle farmers is destroying the lungs of the planet & reducing the worlds capacity to replenish our oxygen supply
The 1,300,000,000 cattle in the world emit 60,000,000 tons of methane per year (methane is a greenhouse gas & leads to global warming)
Burning of forests, grasslands & agricultural waste associated with animal farming releases 50-100,000,000 tons of methane per year
Combining these figures, 25% of methane emissions are due to animal farming (not including the billions of sheep, pigs & poultry so the real figure is much higher)
Fertilizer used to grow crops to feed to animals releases nitrous oxide – thought to account for 6% of the greenhouse effect
Fertilizer, weedkiller & pesticides sprayed on crops enter the atmosphere creating a noxious carcinogenic cocktail
CFCs are released into the air from refrigeration units used to store decomposing flesh (meat), milk & butter – CFCs are destroy the ozone layer
Ammonia from animal urine also pollutes the atmosphere
CO2 is released by burning oil & petrol in lorries, ships, abattoirs, dairies, factories etc. associated with meat & dairy production
Emissions from large chemical plants which produce fertilizer, weedkiller & other agricultural chemicals are also poisoning our air
WATER
25 gallons of water to produce 1lb of wheat & 2500 gallons to produce 1lb of meat
UK farm animals produce 200,000,000 tonnes of slurry (liquid excrement) every year, the majority of which ends up in our rivers
Bloody waste water from abattoirs ends up in our rivers
In the USA every second humans produce 12,000 lbs of effluent while farmed animals produce 250,000 lbs
Nitrates & pesticides used on crops grown to feed livestock end up in our rivers
Meat & dairy farming uses 70 litres of water per day per animal in the UK or 159,250,000,000 litres per year in total
The water used to produce 10 lbs of steak is equivalent to the average consumption of water for an entire household for an entire year
Depletion of groundwater reserves to grow crops for animals & to supply abattoirs will lead to greater water shortages
Aquafers (stores of underground water) in the San Joaquin valley in the USA are being drained at the rate of 500,000,000,000 gallons/year to produce meat
18% of all agricultural land in the world is irrigated & as global warming increases (partly due to animal farming) it will cost $200,000,000 to keep these systems going
The water used to produce a 1000 lb beef steer is enough to float a Destroyer battleship
The liquid waste from the various parts of the meat & dairy industry flow into the rivers & from there into the seas polluting them & encouraging huge algal blooms to grow
EFFICIENCY
To produce 1calorie of energy from meat takes 60 calories of petrol, whereas growing grains & legumes to directly feed people produces 20 calories for each calorie of fuel used ( thats 1200 times more efficient)
Meat & dairy farming uses billions of gallons of oil to run tractors, fuel ships & lorries (to move animal feed & animals), pump billions of gallons of water to irrigate fields & run slaughterhouses, power refrigeration units to prevent the corpses from decomposing & to power sewage plants to clean up some of the pollution produced
Cattle convert only 6% of their energy intake (mainly grains & soya) into flesh, the remaining 94% is wasted as heat, movement (which is why they keep many animals in very close confinement), hair, bones, faeces etc
1lb of beef takes 1 gallon of petrol to produce
A family of four eating beef for a year uses enough petrol to run a car for 6 months (obviously depending on how far you drive!)
If the full ecological cost of meat was passed onto the consumer – the price would be quadrupled (at least)
The EC spends œ100,000,000's to subsidise animal production resulting in lakes of unwanted milk & mountains of unwanted meat & butter. This money could be better spent encouraging organic fruit, vegetable & grain production
In the USA in 1979 145,000,000 tons of crops were fed to cattle resulting in only 21million tons of animal bodies – the cost of the wasted crops was $20,000,000,000
Between 1950 & 1985 grain production in Europe & the USA increased massively but 2/3 was fed to animals
70% of all grain is fed to animals
Eating vast quantities of animal flesh, eggs, milk & butter is a luxury that most of the planet can not afford
ANIMALS
Fishing with drift (and other modern) nets weakens & destroys ecosystems by indiscriminately killing billions of sea creatures & disrupting the sea bed
Fishermen's nets kill 10 times as many other animals as the fish they are hoping to catch
Fish caught in nets die an agonising slow death of suffocation
Each year 15,000,000,000 land animals are slaughtered for food & an unknown but much larger number of sea creatures (including 1000's of dolphins caught accidentally)
Chickens are crammed into battery cages with upto 3 other birds, they are unable to even spread their wings & many can not even stand up
Unwanted male chicks (because they can't lay eggs) are gassed or pulped while their sisters go to the battery sheds
Chicks are debeaked without anaesthetic to prevent them injuring each other in the unnaturally confined conditions they are kept in – this is equivalent to having your fingernails pulled out without anaesthetic
Modern farming methods using growth hormones & artificial lighting mean that many chickens out grow their bones, resulting in fractured & broken legs
Sows are kept tethered in stalls 1.3 x 1 metre on concrete or slatted floors – they can not even turn around
Poultry raised for meat are kept in windowless broiler sheds, with around 20-30,000 in each shed, they live in an area of 10-20 cm square – fighting due to overcrowding is common & like battery hens they commonly suffer from supperating bed sores
Broilersheds are artificially lit 23 hours a day to produce rapid growth
Animals travel between farms & to slaughter in overcrowded transporters with no food or water – resulting in stress, injuries & deaths – legal requirements are widely ignored
95% of poultry suffer injuries before being killed & 30% suffer broken bones
Problems with stunning practices mean that many animals have their throats slit while still conscious (around 6% of cattle or 200,000 per year) & are then dipped in tanks of scalding water (to loosen feathers, bristles etc.) again while fully conscious
4000 animals die spurting their blood out every minute in a British slaughterhouse
Calf leather comes from animals killed at just 2 weeks old
Cows were fed on the ground up remains of other cows & sheep – the result is thought to be BSE (mad cow disease) in the USA cattle are fed partly on recycled plastic pellets
Cows only give milk for 10 months after they have a calf – so they are routinely artificially inseminated (ie. mechanically raped) to keep them pregnant & milking – their calves are taken away (usually at 12 hours old) for meat or export to veal crates
Cows would naturally live upto 20 years but are slaughtered after 5-7 years when their milk production begins to fall
In the UK animals are killed by first being stunned with electricity or a captive bolt gun (ie. a bolt is fired into their heads) before having their throats slit & being plunged into boiling water – all this happens on a production line with the animals being hung upside down from a moving conveyor belt – this is factory farming
"Animals are those unfortunate slaves & victims of the most brutal part of mankind" – John Stewart Mill (philosopher)
Veal calves are confined in stalls in the dark, unable to move & are fed on pigs blood , chocolate & dried milk (we are drinking the rich fresh milk of their mothers)
Cows naturally produce 5 litres of milk per day for their calves – under the intensified systems of modern farming they produce 25-40 litres per day – resulting in swollen & inflamed udders – at this rate they are soon worn out
Large areas of land are under monoculture to grow crops to feed to animals – these areas are wildlife deserts supporting fewer & fewer species.
HEALTH
Vegetarians have a 20% lower rate of mortality from all causes (ie. they live longer & don't get sick as often)
Meat is full of traces of antibiotics, hormones, toxins produced by stress & pesticide residues that become concentrated from all the crops they have eaten
Fish contain heavy metals & other pollutants -many of which originated on farms
The world health organisation recommends a diet low in saturated fat, sugar, salt & with plenty of fibre – exactly what you get on a vegan/vegetarian diet
Farmed animals contain upto 50% saturated fat in their bodies
Vegetarians have 24% reduced risk of getting heart disease & Vegans a 57% reduction (heart disease is the biggest killer in the UK accounting for 50% of deaths)
Obesity is rare in vegetarians, obesity is related to many diseases
Vegans & vegetarians have lower blood pressure & cholesterol levels – high levels are associated with heart disease, strokes & kidney failure
Vegetarians have a 50% reduced risk of dying of diabetes
Vegetarians have a 40% reduced level of cancer than the general population thought to be because they have a higher intake of vitamins A,C & E
Vegetarians have a reduced risk of developing gall & kidney stones
80% of food poisoning is due to infected meat (faeces, bacteria etc.) after all meat is decomposing flesh – most of the rest is due to salmonella in eggs
Osteoporosis due to calcium loss from bones is mainly due to the sulphur content in meat & casein protein in milk that cause calcium to be lost in the urine – the countries with the highest meat & dairy consumption are those with the highest levels of brittle bones
50% of people do not have the enzyme to digest milk properly & milk allergy is related to asthma & eczema
Meat eaters have double the rate of Alzheimers disease as Vegans & Vegetarians – some people also think that Parkinsons disease is also linked to meat eating
Egg yolk is a dense concentration of saturated fat & the white is high in albumin protein associated with leaching calcium into your urine. Butter is 80% saturated fat, cream is 40% saturated fat & cheese is 25-40% saturated fat
Meat eaters are two and a half times more likely to get bowel cancer than Vegetarians
The cling film used to wrap meat in supermarkets & butchers contains chemicals linked to falling sperm counts in men
Chinese people (living mainly on a vegetarian diet) consume 20% more calories than Americans but Americans are 20% fatter
Of 2,100,000 deaths in the USA in 1987, 1,500,000 were related to diet (ie. meat & dairy)
AND I COULD GO ON !
If you've read this far, I hope that you are beginning to see that the Meat & Dairy industry is a major contributor to misery on this planet. It is destroying the health of people in rich countries, starving those in poor countries, it is torturing & killing billions of animals every year and in the meantime it is one of the major factors in the destruction of the environment – so what does the meat & dairy industry have to say in it's defence?
Well their only real point is usually "Meat is tasty" – fair enough a lot of people enjoy the taste of meat – but there are plenty of delicious alternatives (just consider the huge range of vegetarian dishes in Indian cooking – one of the oldest & most sophisticated cuisines in the world) and if you really crave meat & dairy, nowadays there are plenty of healthy non animal alternatives – just look in the supermarket & health food shop. So I hope you will agree it's pretty pathetic to consider all the evidence & then say "well I know you're right about the environment & health & the animals – but I just love my meat"

wow your fat!!! anyways you'll just gain weight b/c of the sugar and its really unhealthy just walk around ur neighborhood like everyday it works!!!
Lots of people's sarcasm meters are broken.
You will lose weight in the short term, but in the end you'll wind up gaining in the long run.
When you don't eat your body goes into starvation mode, lowers your metabolism and hordes every calorie you take in. So you might lose something in the short term but when you start eating again all those calories will be converted straight into fat.
I think you should get a group of your family together, plus her husband, and confront her about health issues such as bulimia or anorexia.
These are both stealthy diseases that are easily hidden from other people. That is how she could be losing so much weight.
I would be worried too.
Good luck

its not so much energy drinks that help u loose weight….but its the caffeine…Caffeine is not only a stimulant, but a weight burner.
you will lose some weight. You will lose some energy at first, your body will eventually get use to the no meat diet.

14 pounds in a stone = 6.3 kgs approx and should take around 6 weeks to loose and keep off. If you eat everything you like in smaller amounts than usual and increase your exercise; even just going for a brisk half hour walk daily will help you achieve your goal.
Red Bull is an energy drink and I think it might increase your heart rate which would help burn calories. However it might not be that healthy and could cause feelings of anxiety if over done for prolonged periods.
Best to stick with normal healthy eating of fresh fruit and salads, (raw foods take longer to digest) help you use your bowels reguarly. Fibre sticks to the fatty foods and helps poop it out quicker.
If you eat starchy foods, eat them cold instead of hot (potatoes and noodles and rice) eat them as a salad with corn, pasley, onions or garlic with a squeeze of lemon juice and the tiniest bit of good fresh oil. (Flaxseed has omega 3, 6, and 9) and olive or grapeseed will help give a variety of tastes to your salads.
Grate carrot, zuccini and other vegies and add them to your good quality minced beef (not hamburger mince) its to fatty and make patties. It helps to not has as much meat.
Eat fish everyday and chicken without skin, meat should be not bigger or thicker than you palm and fish or chicken the size of your whole hand. That is your guide!! No cheating, and a potatoe the size of your palm No Bigger!
No you can not have chips, hot or packeted. No biscuits, no cake, scones or ice-cream! Not even for a treat.
Instead eat canned fruit in natural juice NOT SYRUP and custard homemade NO more than one teaspoon of sugar…. Sounds harse but you want to loose weight right, look good and feel fit! OK! Your set, Good Luck and please report back in 6 weeks.
If you squint your eyes and turn your head to the side, on those commercials the small print usually says ''Proper diet and exercise recommended'' The answer is no. There are no quick fixes. Just listen to the small print and don't buy their product.

(If you want REAL energy, drink some green tea. It tastes like crud, but gives you a nice energy boost afterward.
bananas are really good if you want energy fast
yeah duh! look at all the calories your takin in!!!!!
Lots of negativity and misinformation when people answer this question… (bull sperm, heh try again. Taurine does not mean bull sperm)
Anyhow, energy drinks will help you lose weight, albeit not in a great way or in any relative speed. This is assuming you pick a sugar free drink.
The reason for this is the ones without the large amount of calories still contain the things that boost your metabolism, while not giving you back a lot that your body actually stores, while the super sugared ones (and the ones that call themselves energy drinks while just being a glorified mountain dew) actually could make you gain weight. It's all in the label.
Your friends that drink these are probably thin due to other reasons, especially if its monster…
For those reading this I do want to stress though that it could be very unhealthy to try and use energy drinks to lose weight(overdoing it with those is bad for your heart, brain, etc). While I personally know they help due to personal experience, it's painfully slow. The only real way to lose weight in a reasonable amount of time is simply watch your intake each day and be sure you work it off in some way or another.
A very light meal is even better….a half cup of fat free cottage cheese with some sliced peaches….lots of protein, natural sugar and it's enough food to give your metabolism something to do for a while…
First, for all of the "quick and easy" weight loss diet pill suggestions, remember, if something sounds too good to be true… it probably is, particularly if you have to pay for it.
On Yahoo!Answers I find certain questions being asked repeatedly which is simply a reflection of new people participating. A couple of common questions amount to "How do I lose weight," or more specifically, "How do I lose abdominal fat?" I have gotten very positive responses from my answers when I paused to reply (and now beginning to get "It works!" emails that are very gratifying. I like helping people)… so have recently decided to put a good solid answer on my Yahoo!360 Blog (September 10) that I can point people to. These are my thoughts as a physician and athlete.
Don't target losing more than about 2 lbs per week. If you try to lose faster, your body will go into "starvation mode" and get very stingy about burning calories while at the same time very efficient about storing any calories that you do provide. And it will make you feel awful.
There is no site specific way of losing fat… the old myth about working your abs to burn belly fat isn't true. To get rid of love handles, you need to lose overall fat. That happens with exercise and watching your diet. More on that below.
The most effective way to lose fat is aerobic exercise in the "moderate" fat-burning range, ideally first thing in the morning before you eat. When you wake your body is ready to burn fat and your levels of growth hormone are highest at that time. Later in the day it can take up to 30 minutes just to put your body into a fat-burning mode.
Another overlooked way to burn fat is by lifting weights. Skeletal muscle has very high caloric needs… almost twice that of adipose (fat) tissue. Put on a little muscle and you will burn calories all day even at rest. Be aware that skeletal muscle weighs more, so with this approach you may see your weight increasing while your body fat is melting away. Not realizing this often stresses folks who think they should be losing weight as a measure of fitness. Forget the scale, look in the mirror and you will be happy.
To lose a pound of fat, you need to eliminate about 3500 calories. You can do this by burning more with exercise or by modifying your diet to reduce intake. If you do a Google search on say, "swimming calories" you will quickly find a website with tables of calories burned for a given exercise. You can use such lists to estimate how many calories you are burning up with your routine.
For diet, keep a diary for a couple of weeks counting calories, grams of protein, and grams of fat intake. It is easy with online sources of nutritional information (type the name of the food and calories into the Google search engine) and packaging labels. That will let you quickly figure out where the fat is coming from in your diet.
Fat gives you 9 calories per gram. So take the number of grams of fat, multiply by 9, then calculate what percentage the fat calories are of your total daily calories. Restricting the calories from fat to about 20% of your total intake is ideal for a maintenance diet… that isn't overly restrictive. Of note, you need some fat in your diet. For instance, the body uses fat to produce hormones. Once you have a picture of how to modify your diet, you can drop the diary and just go back to it occasionally if you are wanting to tweek things further.
There is a subset of questions that goes further and asks about "How to get a six-pack?" The answer is the same. Six-packs are 20% abdominal exercise and 80% diet. There is one caveat… abdominal muscles will form in the position that you work them, so be certain to pull them tightly toward your spine while doing crunches, etc. Also, during most lifting, the "core is active" which means that you should be stabilizing with contracted abs then too. Fail to do this and the abs will form, but bulging outward and the result is not attractive.
If you are trying to build muscle as a way to lose fat, then you may need to increase total calories and specifically your protein intake. I target about 0.8 g of protein per pound of body weight each day when actively building. That is far more protein than most people need in their diets.
Aloha
nope =/
i asked my doctor the same thing,
he said drinking those to often can cause "beer bellys"
idk bout you but i don't like lower tummy pudge X|
Rockstar Zero Carb is the best, and has only 20 calories/can. The rest- especially Monster…..has way too much sugar.
In a way they are proven to increase energy. Energy drinks contain caffeine the same as coffee or tea which provides a slight increase in heart rate and blood pressure. It speeds up your brain function slightly, making you more alert. It will also stimulate the body to burn more calories (most protein drinks contain caffeine). The problem is the large amount of sugars in these drinks. The sugars are simple carbohydrates which the body can quickly break down into blood sugar which means easy access to energy for muscles. Unfortunately if all your muscles are doing at the time is preventing you head from tipping forward into your keyboard then that glucose is sent straight to cellulite city. The short term energy boost from the sugar is, well… short term and you will end up feeling increasingly tired as your body signals that it isn’t using energy stores and slows production of glucose. So for energy try slow burning carbs such as oatmeal, a quick jog up some stairs or plain black coffee.
If that isn’t enough to scare you off. An article in Men’s Health tells of a study completed by the University of Maryland in which they soaked teeth for two weeks in different drinks to observe the deterioration it caused. #2 on the list was good old Red Bull which gives you wings but removed 21 milligrams per square centimeter of enamel.
Sports drinks, such as Poweraide, contain sucrose, which is great for energy during long workouts and electrolyes for rehydrating the body quickly. But you should really stick to water, unless you workout is more than an hour.
Nope, it just makes you urinate faster…is that what you want/
1. Check your own metabolism.
2. Eat breakfast everyday…o's and non-fat milk are goood
3. Eat more fruit and vegetables
4. protein – only low-fat
5. Milk – all non=fat
6. forget soda unless with splenda = 0 calories,
forget white bread and white sugar, bread 8-12 grains
7. Walk – park at the farthest parking spot…hence you walk more and try stairs 3-5 minute every day
8. Make these life changes…not faster….again for your health and your life.
9. wallk and walk again…get outside at least 5 minutes more ;like 1/2 hour …everyday.
10. Make a list – of all those things buggin you….yes write it all down
11. Make a list of good things in your life..and what you want, educaiton , travel , job and everything..yes write it down.
12. When you're done with the bad things..buggin you…tear it up and throw the past away…it served a purpose to show you what's really buggin you.
13. Everything you feel badly about anything, write it down, face it and throw it away.
14. Many times it's not what you eat, it's what's eating you!…so face it and write it down…by now you know the routine.
You have a right to be happy….slowly…and completely..and when you're ready…
YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO A ROCKIN RELATINSHIP..now go for it.
Yes is probably the most straightforward answer, as most energy drinks contain lots of sugar which is mostly converted straight to fat by the body! Beware of so called "light" or "sugar free" energy drinks as they contain many chemicals which make you put on weight just as much.. Hope this helps!
its not about weight loss
its about inches lost and muscles firmed up
muscle weighs more than fat
Green tea is GREAT for losing weight!
I guess so, if its working for you then keep on doing what your doing. As long as it is to acidic and it could do something to your gut. All people are different, what works for you may not work for others. Moderation is always a good thing.
Coffee isn't so bad if you are not using sugar. I know of a product that I take for energy which is also fat burning. It also includes a lot of vitamins and is only 60 calories per serving. If you are interested ion looking it up send me an email and I will provide you with the info.
Yeah, and you'll lose health too.
Well obviously you don't need to lose weight, but whatever.
Anyway, they can, but you have to choose the right one. The caffeine and "speedy" ingredients in these drinks can raise your metabolism, but you also should find one low in sugar so you're not adding to your caloric intake.
Try Sugar Free Red Bull.
Caffeine is good for weight loss. It's known to boost metabolism. Not in a huge way, but it does make a little difference.
Red bull is fine too. It's mainly caffeine and taurine (an organic acid compound. occurs naturally in the body and plays several physiological roles)
Just look out for sugar. As little as possible on a diet. Take your coffee black and buy sugar free red bull.
Your issue is part mental and part physical, but mostly mental. The energy drink is no more than a habit and a crutch.
Don't think about the workout, just go to the gym. After 20-30 minute warmup on the treadmill or stationary bike, you'll be refreshed and ready to rock. Trust me, it works every time.
As for the weight loss thing, its calories in versus calories out. Even though energy drinks aren't nutritionally sound, they don't contain enough calories to have much of an impact unless you're pounding them down one after the other. Bear in mind that "going to the gym" doesn't burn any calories. Lifting burns some, but nowhere near what you'd like to think. Sitting on the bench between sets burns nothing.
If your primary goal is weight loss, you'd be best served by concentrating on one or all of the big three aerobic exercises: Running, cycling and swimming.
energy drinks are usually high in calories and are meant for energy during high impact sports, so unless the calories are burnt they will turn into fat
Most professionals believe that energy drinks are a big mistake. I would recommend staying as far away as possible from them.
Caffeine does decrease appetite, but the amount of sugars and other other energy inducers in most energy drinks are not good for you.
In all my years of working out at gyms, I've never seen anyone drinking an energy drink.
I would suggest a little of dark chocolate (over 70% cocoa) – it will give you more energy than energy drinks and its antioxidant.
Monster has 110 calories per serving. There are 2 servings in the regular cans. So if you are drinking 3 of those a day you are consuming 660 calories. That is a lot of calories even with someone as active as you.
Three is also 80mg of caffeine per serving. Caffeine dehydrates us and depletes us of B vitamins. When dehydrated we feel tired and B vitamins are essential for energy. The amount that most energy drinks put in either just replace what is lost or not really much more to improve your energy levels.
Sugar free drinks available in the stores are better. They have about 10 calories per serving. However the caffeine is still there. I would highly recommend ones like the caffeine free XS energy drinks. These are healthy ones, with 8 calories per serving. They have much more of the B vitamins than regular energy drinks do.
Before that though it is imperative to get enough water. It is a natural energizer. Also taking a good quality multi B complex may help reduce how many energy drinks you may need in a day. Also using a good quality ginseng with ginko biloba increases energy too. Then there is the Rhodiola 110 supplement used for Sports Nutrition energy levels.
I recommend cutting back on the energy drinks to no more than 2 per day. With regular ones you are getting 480mg of caffeine. The maximum safe daily intake of caffeine is only 300mg. Over that causes many problems and the longer it is over consumed the worse it will be. Even beyond the plain caffeine there are just so many combined stimulants in them. Even the healthy ones like the caffeine free versions from XS should be limited to just 2 servings a day.
Contact me if you have any other questions.
Your mad? Your yelling alot. this is not healthy at all. I recommend you just eat right and get some exercise.
I wouldn't recommend it. The regimen you describe is a poor program, at best. It is more likely to do you more harm, than good, in the long run.
Try this, http://www,m2cglobal.com/RMGobar
There may have been some effects when you stopped drinking coke, but they may have been small. By cutting out all of that soda, you may have only slowed down the rate at which you gained weight, or you could have just ate more food to make up for the calories. when you said that you felt worse than when you started, you were probably going through a withdrawal to all of the caffeine.
dunno but there are 33 teaspoons of sugar in a litre bottle of coke!
two 330ml cans is more than 70% of your (RDA) recommended daily allowance of sugar (here in the UK it's written on the side of all food and drink)
that's a shedload of sugar. give up booze too if you drink. 1 pint beer = more calories than a Mars bar
yes
Negative… The caffeine will energize you for a little while but then when it wears off your energy level will dip as the caffeine takes back what it gave you.
Ok, I will be very honest here. I think that if that is all you drank for a month you would probably lose about 20kgs but I know that it is very hard to not actually eat food and you will get a very sore and sick feeling stomach that wont be very nice. Also, the down side is that after the month once you start to eat normal again you will put a lot of the weight back on as your body will only be use to you drinking.
Also, after the first couple of days of not eating your body will go into a shut down mode which means that for a while you will not lose any weight as your body is scared that it will not get another meal so it stores all of the food in your stomach as fat to help energy levels. You you may actually end of putting on more weight instead of losing it.
Sorry to put a downer on your idea but I really think if you are going to only eat one thing and try to lose weight dramatically, you should just eat fruit all day and drink water.
well eating healthier gives you more energy. and working out does too, soooooo my guess is that as soon as you start dragging your self to the gym youll get into the routine and have more energy to do it.
For a while, low carb anything will help you lose weight. But be aware, the moment you up your carb intake again, you will gain your weight back immediately.
I wouldn't recommend drinking energy drinks for weight loss anyway. There is still a huge amount of sugar in them.
